The Backpack Project, part of the larger Mary’s Meals movement, asks groups and individuals to donate education resources to children in developing countries. The novi Community Action group coordinated the collection and organisation of the many generous donations that came in to school.
During pursuits periods, we sorted out the vast quantities of donated pens, pencils, notebooks and other items of stationary, making sure that each school bag contained an equal and significant amount of resources. We also received clothes which we put into the backpacks along with toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and tennis balls. In total, the charity collected 53 school bags from Tonbridge School, all of which will be going to children in Malawi.
